Johnson Corner Sponsors Startup Grind to come to New Plymouth

Startup Grind is a global entrepreneur community who help founders succeed by connecting, inspiring and educating them through local and international events. Originating in Silicon Valley Startup Grind now spans across 400 cities in 120 countries.

The cornerstone of its global community is monthly events featuring successful local founders, innovators, educators, and investors who share lessons learned on the road to building great companies.

Adnan Belushi, Co-founder of Johnson Corner has become the Startup Grind Chapter Director for New Plymouth, which will bring together founders and thought leaders throughout the region with four major events and guest speakers from across the country every year.

Director and Founder of Girlboss New Zealand, Alexia Hilbertidou is confirmed as the first guest speaker for Startup Grind New Plymouth. Girlboss is an organisation that empowers young women to challenge gender stereotypes in the workforce. Alexia is passionate about getting women into entrepreneurship, leadership, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Through her advocacy work. Alexia has spoken at over 50 events, inspiring 20,000 young people, teachers, and professionals. In 2016, Hilbertidou won the Young Leader Award, an award given to the most influential New Zealand woman under at the age of 25.

Building Creative Infrastructure for New Plymouth
